Prognostic Health Management
We Solve Big PHM Problems.
The RuBee® Health Tag rides on a missile or sensitive asset for its entire service life — logging temperature, humidity, pressure, shock and vibration for up to 25 years and reporting through sealed steel — so readiness is measured, not assumed.
It Rides With the Weapon.
Storage, transport, handling — temperature, humidity, pressure, shock, vibration. Every excursion logged with date and time, for twenty years.
The Case Never Opens.
RuBee’s magnetic link reads straight through sealed steel: all five Red Flags in about half a second — no RF, no emissions risk, HERO and HERF ZERO.
Decide With Evidence.
Discover a whole asset group, read every Red Flag, and generate excursion reports for management in a few clicks — target the ATE, end the No-Fault-Found, and pick the asset most likely to succeed.
What PHM Has Never Had
Four Big PHM Problems. One Tag.
PROBLEM 01
The history is unrecorded
Twenty years of storage, transport and handling — and no one can say what the asset went through.
WE SOLVE ITEvery excursion, every shock, every day — logged on the asset for its whole service life.
PROBLEM 02
Tests pass. Missions fail.
BIT and ATE check the electronics on the bench. They cannot see a 125 g drop in a truck last March.
WE SOLVE ITRed Flags tell you which asset to test, which to retire, and which is most likely to succeed.
PROBLEM 03
The case can’t be opened
Sealed steel containers, explosive stores, RF-banned sites — the places where PHM data is needed most and gathered least.
WE SOLVE ITMagnetic RuBee reads through the closed case. HERO ZERO, HERF ZERO, no emissions.
PROBLEM 04
Data nobody can act on
Sensor logs that live in a spreadsheet are not prognostics. Decisions need reports the chain of command can read.
WE SOLVE ITEnvoy discovers the whole group, flags, and writes the report — PDF for people, JSON for systems.
The Problem
Missiles Pass Every Test — and Still Fail
Ground-to-air missiles show mission failure rates of 6% to 25%, while launch-phase failures are only 1–4%. The weapon passed its Built-In Test. It passed on Automatic Test Equipment. What failed was everything nobody saw: transport shock, thermal abuse in storage, humidity, vibration — the damage that happens between tests.

A stockpile is only as ready as its history is known — and until now, that history was unrecorded.
Why wireless PHM never shipped — until now
- 01 RF wireless is an intrinsic safety threat near warhead EEDs, igniters, and fuel — a HERO and HERF risk.
- 02 RF is blocked by the aluminum and steel of the transit case and the missile body itself.
- 03 RF produces compromising emanations — an eavesdropping, targeting, and Tempest risk.
- 04 Rechargeable sensor tags last days to a year — so sealed, pressurized cases must be opened again and again.
What the Gen3 Health Tag changes
- 01 Magnetic IEEE 1902.1 link — HERO ZERO and HERF ZERO, safe on fused ordnance and nuclear assets.
- 02 Reads through steel, aluminum, titanium, and liquids — the case stays sealed for the life of the asset.
- 03 No significant compromising emanations — tested by DOE, NNSA, DoD, and the ADF.
- 04 10, 15, or 25-year primary battery — tag life matches the service life of the asset.
The Assurance Stack
BIT · ATE · Health Tag
Three layers answer three different questions. The first two are event-based snapshots. Only the third is continuous — from device birth to the final event.
Twenty Years, Three Layers — Live
YEAR 0 — ATE: full certification. All three layers agree: healthy.
LAYER 1 · INSIDE THE WEAPON
BIT
“Is it safe and functional right now?”
Built-In Test enforces safing and inhibits, and stops operation on gross internal faults. It runs at power-up and pre-launch — and is not designed to explain why a fault occurred.
LAYER 2 · TEST STATION
ATE
“Does it meet all requirements at this event?”
Automatic Test Equipment runs comprehensive, scripted, auditable tests with deep fault isolation — a snapshot in time, with zero visibility between maintenance events.
LAYER 3 · ON THE ASSET, 24/7
Health Tag
“What happened since the last test?”
Continuous shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and handling history. Detects unknown abuse and latent-damage precursors; turns broad retest into targeted test. Pick the asset most likely to succeed.
The Evidence
A 180g Drop Has Nowhere to Hide
A sensitive item is flown to a forward location. The tag’s altimeter certifies both flights. Four hours after the second landing, the tag logs a 180g shock — date, time, and all three axes, sampled at 6,400 Hz. The asset looks untouched. The datalog says otherwise: inspect this one before it enters inventory.

Proof, Not Promise
Primes Build On It. Services Trial It.
Raytheon presented the RuBee-based High Value Asset Monitor (HVAM) at the NDIA Emerging Technologies conference — “data capture via the only wireless protocol that is HERO/HERF certified.” RuBee in-transit visibility has completed Phase IV trials with the Australian Defence Force, with UK MOD and US Army trials following.

Price Competitive
Decades of Data, at Sensor-Tag Prices
Serious defense sensor nodes land in the $250–$1,500+ range once packaging, sealing, qualification, and calibration are counted — and the rechargeable ones still die within a year. The Gen3 Health Tag is priced against those same commercial sensor tags, while delivering a sealed MIL-STD-810H, IP68 package whose battery outlives the asset. No recharging. No case openings. No wiring. Zero maintenance.
